During his speech, the audience chanted R-Truth’s name. Cena declared that his schedule for a retirement tour leaves him no time for distractions and demanded a “real fighter.”
CM Punk Confronts Cena
CM Punk interrupted, accusing Cena of cheating in his victory over Cody Rhodes and calling his actions unjust. Punk positioned himself as the representative of the fans and challenged Cena to pick a date for when “The Best in the World” could contend for his title. Cena agreed, stating that Punk would need to come to Saudi Arabia at Night of Champions to pursue it. Seth Rollins then appeared with his faction, showcasing the Money in the Bank briefcase.
Becky Lynch Segment & R-Truth’s Emotional Promo
Becky Lynch took pride in her reign as Women’s Intercontinental Champion. She requested Lyra to raise her hand once more, but Bayley returned and attacked Becky from behind. After Lyra pushed her back into the ring, Becky made a quick exit into the crowd again.
R-Truth delivered an emotional speech from the commentary desk, expressing his appreciation for the fans who welcomed him back. He revealed that John Cena drew out “Ron Killings” from him and unexpectedly cut his hair with scissors, leaving the audience in shock.
King of the Ring Qualifier & Nikki Bella’s Return
An electrifying King of the Ring qualifier showcased Bron Breakker, Dominik Mysterio, Penta, and Sami Zayn in action. LA Knight interfered, striking Breakker with a BFT. Zayn then finished Dominik with a Helluva Kick, securing the victory.
Hall of Famer Nikki Bella made a surprise comeback, generating excitement for the upcoming Evolution premium live event. Liv Morgan interrupted, disrespecting Nikki and even mocking her divorce. The confrontation escalated as Liv attacked her with an Oblivion, hinting at a potential showdown at Evolution.
Main Event: Jey Uso (c) vs. Gunther – World Heavyweight Championship
In the main event, Jey Uso defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther. The match was intense right from the start, with both wrestlers aiming for quick pins. Jey wowed the audience with a Frog Splash, but Gunther would later take control of the match.
After several sleeper holds and brutal elbow strikes, Gunther executed a submission hold that rendered Jey unconscious. The referee intervened, declaring Gunther the new World Heavyweight Champion. This marked the end of Jey Uso’s reign — and the reign of Roman Reigns’ family — over the championship.
