On Monday, Punjab Kings triumphed over Mumbai Indians in Jaipur, guaranteeing a top-two finish in the Indian Premier League 2025.

Following this result, the Shreyas Iyer-led team is currently at the top of the standings and is set to compete in Qualifier 1 in New Chandigarh on May 29.

This marks the first time since 2014 that the team has finished in the top two after the league stage. Back then, they reached the final but were defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders.

Punjab Kings’ best performer

Josh Inglis and Priyansh Arya were standout performers for PBKS as they successfully chased down 185 runs against the Indians. Meanwhile, the Hardik Pandya-led squad will participate in the Eliminator on May 30.

Should Royal Challengers Bengaluru win against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday, they will face PBKS in the first Qualifier on May 29. In this scenario, Gujarat Titans will go up against Mumbai Indians.

Conversely, if RCB loses, they will find themselves in the Eliminator, while GT will move on to contest the first Qualifier, having secured second place in the standings.
