The Department of Homeland Security revealed Chávez’s “expedited removal” from the U.S.

Julio César Chávez Jr. was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) merely four days following his fight against Jake Paul at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed the arrest on Thursday, noting that Chávez is undergoing processing for “expedited removal from the United States.”

The statement also mentioned that Chávez has an arrest warrant in Mexico connected to his association with the Sinaloa Cartel.

“On July 2, ICE apprehended Mexican boxer and unlawful immigrant Julio César Chávez Jr.,” the statement stated on X.

“He is currently undergoing processing for expedited removal from the United States. This affiliate of the Sinaloa Cartel has an outstanding arrest warrant in Mexico for his role in organized crime and the trafficking of firearms, ammunition, and explosives.”
