As he attempted to raise the trophy awarded to Ohio State for their victory in the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship Game in January, Vance encountered a mishap.

As the White House band played Queen’s “We Are the Champions,” the moment turned out to be less than triumphant for Vance.

The base of the 35-pound trophy detached while Vance and star Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson were lifting it.

Fortunately, another team member was there to catch the trophy before it hit the ground.
