The Asia Cup 2025: will feature a match between India and Pakistan on September 14 during the group stage. The two arch-rivals may also clash again in the Super Four phase. A total of six teams will participate in the continental tournament, scheduled to take place in the UAE from September 9 to 28.

On Saturday, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chief Mohsin Naqvi officially announced the tournament dates.

This edition of the Asia Cup will involve 19 matches with six teams competing. India and Pakistan are placed in the same group, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have been allocated to another group.

The tournament will be held in two locations: Abu Dhabi and Dubai, both situated within the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Despite the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) having the hosting rights, it will occur at a neutral venue due to the ongoing tensions involving India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

Exact match venues have yet to be determined. It’s worth noting that the previous Asia Cup was conducted in a hybrid format after India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan, the host nation for the 2023 tournament. Sri Lanka hosted nine matches, including the final, while Pakistan organized four.

Earlier this year, the Champions Trophy was similarly staged in a hybrid format after India declined to travel to Pakistan. India’s matches took place in the UAE following the International Cricket Council’s decision to hold tournaments organized by India or Pakistan in a hybrid format until 2028.
